How we handle your information

1 Information we collect

What's collected depends on your role (owner, trainer, staff, admin, or client) and what your training business actually uses in the app.

2 How we use it

• To operate the core features of the app: client and dog records, scheduling, messaging, and Board & Train tracking.
• To send push notifications and transactional emails (like invitations and report cards) relevant to your account.
• To bill business subscriptions, through Stripe.
• To keep the app secure and troubleshoot problems.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build behavioral profiles for marketing purposes.

3 Who we share it with

We don't sell personal information. We share it only as needed to run the app:

Within your organization

Your training business's staff can see the information their role permits. For example, a trainer can see their clients' dogs and messages, and an admin can see conversations across the organization for oversight.

Service providers

Course links

Courses your business lists for sale link out to third-party sites. We don't process those purchases or receive your payment details from them.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Canine Circle, our users, or others.

4 Retention & deleting your account

Your information is kept for as long as your account is active with your organization. You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete Account in the app. When you do:

• Your login is permanently disabled; you won't be able to sign back in.
• Your name, email, phone number, and profile photo are removed and replaced with "Deleted User."
• Records tied to your organization's own business history, like messages you sent, notes you wrote, or report cards you authored, remain attributed to "Deleted User" rather than being erased outright, so your former organization's records stay intact.

If you're the only owner of an organization, you'll need to promote another member to owner before you can delete your own account, so the organization isn't left without one.

5 Security

Data is encrypted in transit, and access to your organization's data is enforced at the database level, so accounts can only reach the records their role and organization permit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.

6 Your choices

• Access & correct: update your profile information directly in the app's Account section.
• Delete: use the in-app Delete Account flow described above.
• Other requests: email us (below) for any other request about your information.

7 Children's privacy

Canine Circle is intended for use by dog training businesses and their adult clients. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8 Where data is processed

Our service providers may process and store information in the United States or other countries in which they operate. By using the app, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in locations outside your own.

9 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the effective date above when we do. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
